XS-NJD Principle of Aerosol Pre-scattering Meteorological Stations for Airports Highways Visibility
MeterVisibility Sensor. The Visibility Meter provides measurements related to meteorological visibility.
The sensoris based on the principle of aerosol pre-scattering and is a new generation of meteorological
visibility monitoring equipment developed by the transmissive Visibility Meter. The sensor can be widely
used in meteorological stations, remote automatic weather stations, and transportation departments
such as airports, highways, waterways, and large ships.

The visibility meter consists of the main components such as the light emitter, the light receiver and
the microprocessor controller. The transmitter emits infrared pulsed light, and the receiver
simultaneously detects the pulsed light intensity of aerosol scattering in the atmosphere.
All measurement information is collected by the microprocessor controller and converted into a
meteorological optical range Meteorological Optical Range by a special mathematical model
algorithm Meteorological Optical Range(MOR).

The visibility meter requires a 12DC power supply and a three-wire RS-232/RS-485 communication
cable. The instrument sends the meteorological visibility value and status information to the host
computer of the monitoring center through the communication interface.

The Visibility Meter provides multiple sets of built-in commands for configuring system parameters
and controlling system functions. During assembly and maintenance, a display terminal is required
to check system parameters and may be used to change parameter values.

1. Function
1.1 Continuous measurement and output of atmospheric visibility
1.2 The instrument has self-test capability, which can detect its own 12V power supply voltage, receiver,
transmitter temperature, receiver signal and zero signal in real time, and give status alarm indication.

1.3 The instrument digital output interface is equipped with RS-232 or RS-485 as standard. The interface
can be set by controlling the collector communication selection switch in the processor. It can be set at the
factory according to user requirements.

1.4 The instrument can set the ID number to identify the identity, ID=00 is the universal identifier, and the ID
number is a common identifier when it leaves the factory. The user can set a new ID number through the
command. Once the ID number is set, it is not affected by the power failure of the device. Used to distribute
the point instrument when sharing the main station in a multi-machine network. The instrument has multiple
commands for remote monitoring and maintenance


2. Instrument characteristic
2.1 Structural features: The visibility meter is designed with integrated structure, it is compact and small, the
weight is light , very convenient for packaging, storage and transportation, easy to install, and it can be used
as a portable instrument. The unique double scattering receiver structure is designed to minimize the sun and
other miscellaneous interference.

2.2 The transmitter and receiver window lenses are treated with special anti-dust and anti-fouling coatings, which
greatly reduce the thickness and speed of the lens accumulation in the natural environment, and also reduce the
pollution probability of salt spray and oil pollution

2.3 The structural materials of the instrument are high quality hard aluminum and 316 stainless steel. The surface
is anodized and protected by multiple paintings. All screws are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel screws.

2.4 The power consumption of the instrument is extremely low. In the winter, the transmitter is heated frequently,
and it is only less than 5W, so it can adapt to the working mode of the power supply of the battery or solar panel.

2.5 Instrument collector design emphasizes long-term stability, built-in watchdog circuit, after long-term operation
test, the instrument is stable and reliable.

2.6 Real-time data display: The sensor can output a series of digital information, the operator can freely choose the
interval of 15 seconds or 60 seconds, the information can be output through automatic response or passive recruitment

2.7 The DC power supply circuit of the instrument has dual design of anti-reverse connection and self-recovery insurance.
Even if the user misuses, it will not cause the instrument circuit board to burn out. It is not necessary to replace the fuse,
and it can be restored after correct operation.

2.8 The communication interface chip of the instrument has 15KV anti-static protection, which can protect the circuit from
the static electricity of the human body during the user's wiring operation

2.9 The instrument has lightning protection function, and its communication interface and power interface have lightning
protection design, which can minimize lightning damage.
