Product Description

TR-SS is a ceramic soil water potential sensor. It can be easily inserted into a soil profile pit by wrapping wet soil around it. Measurement and recording is very simple.

Measuring a wide range of soil water potential without maintenance and calibration;
No filling is required and the large range makes it an ideal sensor for measuring the water potential of natural systems, especially air pockets that cannot be measured by tensiometers.

Importance of soil water potential:
Water potential refers to the potential energy of water per unit volume in a certain state relative to pure water. Water potential describes the tendency of water to flow from one place to another due to osmosis, gravity, mechanical pressure, or matrix effects such as capillary action. The concept of water potential is of great significance in understanding and calculating the flow of water in plants, animals and soil.
